Fall 2008 Workshop Schedule

Earth Life Studies are based on circular models of living, interacting and healing that revolve around Earth-Centered principles and Somatic Archaeology™. We offer inter-disciplinary, multi-cultural wellness trainings from the four worlds (plant, mineral, animal and human) that incorporate indigenous traditions and sacred law to establish wholeness, balance and purpose for people and their communities.

Classes are updated occasionally, so please check back often for newly scheduled trainings. Somatic Archaeology™ Certification Program dates for 2009 will be listed soon. Only Young Living essential oils are used in these classes. CEU's may be available; please request information as needed.

Most class registration is done through Howling at the Moon Productions. Where noted, registration for certain workshops is done through the school or retreat center that is sponsoring the class.

Somatic Archaeology Introduction Weekend

September 12-14, Friday 6-9, Sat 10 am-6 pm & Sun 10 am-5 pm

As a bridge between bodywork, human behavior and spirituality, this experiential workshop will teach the Five Steps of Somatic Archaeology for Generational Healing. Through the use of guided somatic meditations, breathwork, movement, sound and aromatherapy, SA unearths the origins of suffering and offers tools for reconcilation in order to create a new story of happiness, health and harmony. This workshop is an introductory class to prepare for Fall 2008-Spring 2009 SA Certification Program to be held in Pocatello.





My Body, My Earth: A Healing Circle

September 23-November 4, Tuesdays 6-9 pm
Naropa University Extended Studies, Boulder, CO
Investment: $230 (plus $20 materials fee)

This 7-week healing circle provides the tools to explore your warehouse of generational body memory in order to decipher the cause and effect of your experiences and life patterns. This transformative circle teaches the 5 steps of Somatic Archaeology, and invites you to heal your past and recover your joy.





My Body, My Earth: Youth Talking Stick Circle

September 24-November 5, Wednesdays 4-6 pm
Buffalo Building Classroom, Lookout Mountain, CO
Investment: $150 (for ages 13-18)

This 7-week healing circle provides tools for youth to explore their family patterns, social interactions, addictions, environmental concerns, dietary choices, and life challenges in order to give voice to inner wisdom and develop healthy communication skills. We will teach the 5 steps of Somatic Archaeology for awareness and confidence building.





OCTOBER

Detoxify Your Life!

October 10, Friday 10 am-4 pm
Buffalo Building Classroom, Lookout Mountain, CO
Investment: $75 (includes handouts)

A six hour beginners workshop to assist students to learn about the therapeutic use of pure essential oils with a focus on establishing a happier, healthier, more productive work and home environment. Learn simple changes you can make to switch to essential oil-infused products for help with toxic environmental exposures, nutritional balance, and healthy personal care products. Specific application for first aid, acute/chronic pain, detoxification, environmental health, and personal wellness will be highlighted.





Raindrop Therapy

October 11, Saturday 9 am-5 pm
Buffalo Building Classroom, Lookout Mountain, CO
Investment: $125 (includes handouts and essential oils used)

Hands-on seven hour training! Learn to apply seven therapeutic grade essential oils along the spine to assist to detoxify the body, heal chronic pain, relieve stress, enhance circulation, and promote well-being. Each person will receive and give one Raindrop Therapy session. This is a wonderful technique to add to your professional toolbag! Prerequisite: Detoxify Your Life class or equivalent.





Enhancing Emotions with Essential Oils

October 24, Friday 9 am-6 pm
Buffalo Building Classroom, Lookout Mountain, CO
Investment: $125 (includes handouts, oils and textbook)

This 8 hour training establishes an understanding of how essential oils can impact and unwind the emotional patterns and limiting belief structures of individuals. Through the use of kinesiology, somatic awareness, and essential oils, we will explore our personal state of emotional balance. The frontal lobe of our brain and the amygdala, who’s function is to store and release trauma in our bodies, does not respond to sound, sight or touch. It releases emotional trauma only through olfaction - the sense of smell.





NOVEMBER

A Life Worth Living: Remedies for Anger, Depression, Grief and Guilt

November 1, Saturday 10 am-5 pm
Cost: $75 (includes use of essential oils)

Learn and experience how to access the origins of suffering in your body/mind through breathwork, essential oils, awareness of generational patterns, and somatic meditation for gentle release of life patterns. When emotions are expressed in healthy ways, they become an agent for change. Well directed and understood, emotions can be utilized to your benefit. Excellent preparation for reducing stress during the holidays.





The Magic of Food

November 22, Saturday 10 am-5 pm
Cost: $75 (Co-Taught with Kate Eberhard)

Help the earth and your body by eating healthy! Discussion of eating closer to home, organic food, understanding nutrients and your body, food combining, sources of protein, healthy fats, the right kind of carbs, and how to choose healthy sugars. We will also share recipes for well-balanced, tasty holiday meals, vegetarian options, where to shop, and how conscious, responsible eating can change the world! Kate Eberhard has been involved in the natural products and organic industry for over 25 years. She cooks at home out of her extensive garden.





The Fulfilled Woman

November 29, Saturday 10 am-5 pm
